Notes: These state champion dawn redwoods are on the William and Mary campus at the end of the Sunken Garden. They were grown from seed germinated by Dr. J.T. Baldwin in 1949 after this thought-extinct tree was rediscovered in China.
Best time to photograph: any time when in leaf. It would be nice, but not entirely necessary, to photograph this tree when nearby Virginia magnolia is in bloom (late May/June?)
